3. Dodge Ball Variation
Traditional dodge ball is a competition between two teams separated by a boundary line
Each side is trying to get the other side out by hitting them with the dodge ball
This variation can be used to create a safer environment for all kids
In this version, only the teacher and the teacher’s helpers can touch the ball
In addition, the whole room is fair game
Any kid who touches the ball or is hit by the ball must sit down
Pro tip: The goal is not to get the kids out but to give them the rush of being chased
If you notice the majority of kids are sitting down and getting bored, you may consider calling all kids back into the game

5. Sharks and Minnows
6. Freeze Tag
7. Four Corners
8. Rock Paper Scissors
Explain to the kids the rules of Rock, Paper, Scissors
Rock beats Scissors
Scissors beat Paper
Paper beats Rock
Break the room into two equal teams
Determine a middle line to separate the teams
Assign a pose for each option
Rock = Crouch down
Scissors = Cross arms across chest
Paper = Put hands over your head
Have each team decide on an option without the other team knowing
Bring each team to the line so that they are facing another kid from the other team
Have each team strike the appropriate pose at the count of three
Once each team strikes their poses and determine which side wins a small game of tag will ensue
The winning team will try to tag the losing team before the team members reach a set boundary line
Anyone from the losing team who is tagged will join the winning team
Continue until all players are on one team or until a time limit is reached
