Matthew 7:24-27 NASB1995
“Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them, may be compared to a wise man who built his house on the rock. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and yet it did not fall, for it had been founded on the rock. Everyone who hears these words of Mine and does not act on them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. The rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and it fell—and great was its fall.”
Did you catch that?
Jesus said it is foolish to hear His words and not act on them
If that is true, I have been quite foolish
He goes on to say that foolish men are the ones who build their lives on the sand and in hard times, their homes are washed away.
I realized today that I have been foolish. I have been more influenced by the “sands of time” than the “timeless Word of God” .
This is not wise.
If you have been foolish, like me, I encourage you to seek the Lord today.
Why don’t we be wise together! Let’s not just listen to Jesus’ Words, let’s partner with the Holy Spirit to be doers of the Word.
A life built on the Word is a life that endures the wind and waves.
